Designing Digitally at 8:11 AM.

Good Morning! It’s 8:11 AM. I think It’s way too early but here I am, in Digital Design, learning about blending shapes and colors by making a coffee cup. Listening to Jeremy Camp’s new CD, We Cry Out: The Worship Project, which finally came in the mail yesterday. Anyways, so far I made a gradient and applied it to the artboard. Now I’m gonna change the direction of the gradient. That part was easy. Well this sucks, I don’t get to make the coffee cup, just the gradient to make it look like coffee is in the cup. How did they make the coffee cup? I wanna know!

What I've done so far..

Now I’m applying gradients to multiple objects by putting gradients on text. I added the gradient to the text and now I’m doing something with a coffee bean.. hmm. I’m making a reflection of the coffee cup now and now I’m on to blending. (I’m now listening to Skillet’s The Early Years (1996 – 2001) CD). I just used the blend tool to copy the shapes of the coffee beans and make a design on the coffee cup. It’s kinda cool.

Now it looks like this..

Almost done. Now all I have to do is combine two shapes for a coffee bean and turn them into a smooth color blend.
..and it’s done!

It's done!

Thanks for stopping by to read this! In case you were wondering, this came from Lesson 9 in the book, Adobe Illustrator CS4 Classroom in a Book. Feel free to leave me any comments!
